Remember you must die
This ephemeral installation is a visual manifestation of the transience of life and the interconnectedness of all things. The apple, a symbol of life, is carefully bound by threads that represent the unseen lines of existence and the universality of death that binds all of us together. Each thread, delicately sewing parts of the apple, is a metaphor for the complex web of memories, experiences, and emotions that define our lives.
As time passes, the art piece will disappear against the thread. Time and the present become evasive, and they vanish, but its effect can be seen on the rotten apple, reminding us of the fleeting nature of existence and the fragility of life. In this case, the apple decays in contrast to the thread. This midpoint between the “fresh” and “rotten” is what this artwork is about, the connection between “life” and “death.” This artwork shows our habit of clinging to life and the inevitable result of leaving behind memories, similar to the remnants of the thread.
Through this art piece, we are invited to contemplate the beauty and impermanence of existence and the intricate connections that bind us all together. It reminds us that life is a precious gift that should be cherished and that our actions and experiences ripple outwards, affecting the world around us in both seen and unseen ways.
